Welcome to the world of good old fashioned rock and roll. Marshan are like the cool, smoking, drinking, older brothers from out of town who roll into a tedious house party and turn it into a Rodriguez Titty Twister bar. Its a tightly packed bundle of beats, ragged riffs and raw handclaps from this Glasgow band. A cover of Hawkwind’s ‘Hurry on Sundown’ shows their mellower side. At times you can hear hints of a lost rock rhythm and blues sensibility last seen in the likes of Humble Pie but more often its standard footstomp rock affair with ‘Kalamazoo’ and ‘Whisky and the Steamer’, shades Zeppelin, Kyuss and Grand Funk Railroad shimmer through. Go on, just try not to like it, its impossible.
